Falling In

Excuse me, Can I be all of you?
Hello dress paired with shoes and socks, date me please?

May I take your outfit out to dinner?

Rachel Comey's fall line is absolutely what I need in my closet and what I want on my body.

Bryant Park

"Bryant Park became the beacon of what New York fashion stands for - an industry that's fearless, tireless, and always moving forward."-Anna Wintour
It is the last year for New York's fashion week at Bryant Park. Fashion week is now moving to the Lincoln Center. It is so sad. Bryant Park is the icon of fashion in New York and it seems too sad to change it.
It all started in the 1970s when there was little respect for New York fashion. Many designers were not exposed to an international audience nor had any stores overseas. Basically, New York fashion industry was a joke, until the designers decided to show their collections together in one location, just like Paris and Milan had done for decades.
New York fashion in the 80s had many designers, but lacked cohesiveness. Then Suzy Menkes, fashion editor of the International Herald Tribune decided New York fashion industry had to do something about this. She put Fern Mallis in charge of persuading the designers to show in one location. And that was it. Fashion week at New York grew from 42 shows inside the New York Public Library in 1993 to over hundreds of designers showing at non other then Bryant Park. And now, what seems like my life and hope to attend a fashion show at Bryant Park is now over. I know that this is not the end of New York fashion week but there is just a sadness about it all. The only good thing to come out of this is that I will be able to go to Bryant Park during fashion week, but no one will be there.

Goodbye McQueen

I can't believe it! Alexander McQueen was found at his London home dead today. He was only 40. In 1996 he was the Chief designer at the Givenchy House, in 2001 became the creative director for Gucci and in 2003 Queen Elizabeth II made him Commander of the British Empire for his fashion leadership. It is so sad that a man this successful and creative could take his own life.Goodbye Alexander McQueen.

NO NO NO

Seriously? As if sweat pants aren't worse enough, they have to go and throw jeans into the mix? First of all the fit is horrible, the color is no good, and they don't even look that great on. My point here is that sweat pants should not mix with anything. They should be left alone. Their only purpose is to be worn out of public and to sleep in.
